Some Progress and Some Restrictions

Newly named, Sprout's Tale seems also to have discovered new life. Progress is now hurtling along for the duration of a uncommon case of anti-storm that has our entire group receiving reasonably effortless day-job schedules. It is fairly rare for this to happen, so we're all performing what we can to take advantage of it.

For one particular, Matt continues to blast via his assignments with such speed as to make them appear simple. Even though I'm not positive how they could be. Last week I asked him to get started on a method that would paint the terrain with a grass texture as it in fact grew grass. Honestly, it was some thing I wasn't certain he'd actually be in a position to complete. I figured it may well be outside the implies of such a modest group.

But of course, by now I need to know much better about Matt. six am on Sunday morning my inbox dinged and there it was along with a picture:
"Present grass implementation has been uploaded to Dropbox. Only level making use of it right now is test level.

It presently grows 3d grass as properly as "paints" a grass texture onto the mesh. Grass density/development speed/and so on. can all be tweaked by choosing the level mesh and modifying the GrassArea script variables. "

I was floored. The image honestly doesn't do it justice, but I'm afraid you'll just have to wait as I've decided that we almost certainly will not be releasing any much more videos till we can edit with each other a fairly tiny demo. I do not want to ruin the magic! So for the time getting you will just have to settle for images.

And there is a lot to come, so don't be concerned about that either. Murilo's been challenging at function at placing collectively a suitable model for our hero and he managed to get that finished over the weekend. A lot of you have rightfully complaining about the handlessness of the character even given that the 2D days, so you will be pleased to uncover out he now has a pair of beautifully sculpted hands best adequate to make George Costanza jealous.

Something one thing, pun about him being handy.
If you happen to be wondering, our original model was accomplished on a whim a number of months just before we knew we'd be going 3D by @LaconicLelex. It was a rough, twenty minute sort of a issue. When we created the choice to go 3d, he was good sufficient to rig it up for us so that we could use it as a placeholder. What a guy.

Nicely, that about does it for now. I will try to get a second post out this week if something occurs, but it might not occur. The primary news now is that we are receiving damn close to obtaining a playable level.

Adios for now.
